Dress Code - Years 12 and 13

One characteristic that defines an IB student is to be an excellent communicator, in other words to be able to communicate in a variety of modes of communication and adapt to different audiences. How the students present themselves in different situations is a key skill to learn to be ready for the world of work.

IB Students:

All IB Students should dress professionally and appropriately. While students are not required to wear a suit and tie, they should dress formally and present themselves in a professional manner. Below you will find some guiding points to consider when selecting clothing which is suitable.

  • Formal shirt, polo shirt with collar , turtleneck or top (please note that shoulders should be covered and tops must have a sleeve)
  • Formal (tailored) trousers, shorts, dress or skirt 
  • Jacket, blazer or pullover.
  • No distinguishable brands or logos on clothing
  • Footwear for an office environment or subtle* black or white trainers.
  • Skirts, shorts and dresses must be no shorter than 5cm above the knee.
  • For physical activity, appropriate clothing and footwear must be worn.

*Subtle in this context means barely noticeable. Bold patterns, textures, shapes etc. are not permitted.
