Summer Basketball Camp

We are delighted to offer a unique opportunity this summer for students to join a five-day intensive basketball camp, led by professional basketball coach Roman Benčíč.

Roman Benčič is a highly experienced professional coach, who has worked with over 30 teams and coached in six European countries. He is well-known for his individual approach to optimise performance at all levels, and has experience running youth basketball camps across Europe.

These engaging training sessions are full of movement and games and are suitable for children of all abilities, but particularly suited to those wishing to take their basketball skills and knowledge to the next level. 

The Summer Basketball Camp will be based in the indoor sports hall at our Libuš campus in Prague 4, with two complimentary shuttle bus services available each day from our Vlastina campus in Prague 6 and Náměstí Míru in Prague 2.

The basketball training sessions will feature many fun games and drills designed to focus on five key objectives:

  • Working with the ball and development of technical skills
  • Movement on court (with and without the ball)
  • Development of motor skills and coordination
  • Improved game-awareness and decision making
  • General fitness and body conditioning

The end of the week will culminate with a basketball tournament where students will have the opportunity to apply their skills.

The Basketball Camp will be based at our Libuš campus in Prague 4.

Parents can bring and collect children directly from Libuš or alternatively we also provide two convenient shuttle bus services every day, free of charge. Both services will be supervised by a member of the Summer Fun team who will meet and accompany the children on the bus each day.

The Vinohrady Shuttle Bus collects students directly from Náměstí Míru bus stop on Francouzská street in Prague 2. The bus departs every morning from the Náměstí Míru bus stop at 8:30 am and returns to Náměstí Míru at 5:00 pm.

The Vlastina Shuttle Bus collects students directly from our Vlastina Campus in Prague 6. the bus departs every morning from Vlastina at 8:30 am and returns to Vlastina at 5:00 pm.

Please note that places on the buses are limited. If you would like to reserve a place for your child on one of the shuttle buses, please indicate this on the registration form.


The price of our programme is fully inclusive and covers the cost of all training, transportation, a morning and afternoon snack and a cooked lunch.

How can I register my child?

Please submit one form per child.

Can children outside of PBIS attend?

Yes, of course! The Summer Basketball Camp is open to the wider community as well as PBIS students.

Is the Basketball Camp suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! The training sessions are fully accessible for students of all levels and abilities and are a great way for students to develop key basketball skills and build confidence. Ultimately, the training sessions are centred around fun and nurturing enjoyment of the game.

Each group will be divided into smaller groups based upon ability.

If my child isn't a fluent English speaker, can they still attend?

Absolutely! The coaching team are fluent in Czech and English and are experienced in working with children from many nationalities.

Where do I drop off and collect my child each day?

The Summer Basketball Camp will be based in the indoor sports hall at our Libuš campus in Prague 4.

Parents dropping off or collecting students can use the car park at the front of the school and access the school through the main entrance, and follow the signs for the Summer Basketball Camp.

Do you provide transportation to the Basketball Camp?

Yes, we will provide two complimentary shuttle bus services from our Vlastina campus in Prague 6 and from Náměstí Míru in Prague 2. Both buses will depart each morning at 8:30 am and return at 5:00 pm.

Places on the buses are strictly limited and must be booked in advance. If you would like to reserve a place for your child on one of the shuttle buses, please indicate this on your registration form.

What should the children bring each day?

  • Sports kit
  • Footwear suitable for indoor sports
  • Change of t-shirt
  • Water bottle (clearly labelled with child's name)
  • Sun cream
  • A hat or cap

What about food and drink?

There is no need to bring any food and drink to the Summer Basketball Camp A cooked lunch and a morning and afternoon snack will be provided every day, prepared by the school's catering supplier, Lion Catering.

If your child has any food allergy or specific dietary requirements, please be include this information in the health information provided on the declaration form (to be completed at school on your child's first day).

If our plans change, can I cancel the booking?

Bookings may be cancelled with a full refund up until 14 days before your child’s scheduled start date at the Summer Basketball Camp.

Refunds after this time will only be payable for cancellations due to medical reasons, which must be supported by a signed doctor’s certificate.
